Zara Australia

Just some days ago, Zara had knowledge of an online store named ZaraBumba which was also using the trade mark ZaraBumba on a Facebook account https://www.facebook.com/Zarabumba. As a matter of respect for customers, and in order to avoid any brand confusion, Zara contacted Ms Neda Luketic, owner of this online sales website, to highlight the possible misleading information to customers caused by the name. Ms Luketic immediately agreed to take all measures to solve the confusion, including the change of the site name, business name and to discontinue the use of the trade mark Zarabumba. Zara adopted a cooperative approach to assist Ms Luketick's transition to her new name, and believes that steps have been taken to avoid ambiguity and in a manner, which is fair for both sides.

We have always dealt with Ms Luketic in a professional and amicable manner. We advised Ms Luketic that we were fully prepared to assist her by providing her with a number of links to government departments to help her to register an alternative business name, an alternative domain name and also information concerning the availability and possible registration of alternative brands as trade marks and business names. The aim has been to resolve the issue amicably and to help her business to move forward in a positive fashion in the future.

Zara wants to underline its high respect for Ms Luketic’s initiative and has tried to demonstrate this throughout the process with practical assistance.. We cannot forget that Zara originated from a small family business in apparel manufacturing and, as a result, the brand is empathetic to all entrepreneurs.
