In parallel to our efforts to constantly reduce our products’ environmental footprint, in our value chain we are focused on socially sustainable working environments through constant improvement of workers’ conditions.

Empowering Workers, Strengthening Communities

Five priority impact areas:

Social Dialogue

Living Wages

Respect

Health

Resilience

To generate positive change for our supply chain workers and their communities, our Workers at the Centre Strategy for 2023-2025 is articulating our transformation effort. More specifically, we are working together with our stakeholders in our 10 clusters on our five priority impact areas: social dialogue, living wages, respect (protection against any form of discrimination), health and resilience (social protection and prosperity). In 2024, we touched the lives of 1,8 million people through 46 projects and solutions implemented in factories and communities.

In addition, Inditex develops a rigorous Compliance Program to ensure compliance with its policies and Code of Conduct. In 2024, it had 6,615 factories, in which a total of 10,387 traceability audits were carried out, with 6,468 social audits and 2,029 environmental audits, aimed primarily at facilities that carry out wet processes, which resulted in the preparation of 306 and 353 corrective action plans respectively.

Investing in Communities for Lasting Impact

At Inditex we also contribute to community development, concentrating on the communities linked most closely to our own operations and those related with our value chain, from raw material extraction to end of product life management.

Our intention is to have a long-lasting impact, which is why we focus our efforts on supporting strategic, long-term initiatives, which are subject to an exhaustive monitoring and accountability process, rather than sporadic contributions to charitable or environmental causes.

To achieve our purpose, we earmark money, in-kind donations and time (such as employee volunteer hours) to a range of non-profit initiatives. As a result, we are currently supporting 953 initiatives from 485 organisations, focused on education, humanitarian aid and environmental protection that have directly benefitted more than 4,6 million people and entailed an investment of over €134 million.

Responsible Tax Contribution for Social Progress

Application of good tax practices is part of our value creation philosophy and our determination to forge positive social transformation wherever we do business, because the payment of taxes, as a company and as individuals, paves the way for economic and social development at the community level.

Key Numbers at a glance

  • €9,341mTax Paid Globally
  • €2,243mTax Paid in Spain

On fiscal year 2024, the total tax contribution of Inditex amounted to €9,341 million. Of those, €2,243 million correspond to Spain, which represents 24% of the total. This percentage, much higher than that represented by sales in Spain (15,1%), is a consequence of the "headquarters effect" associated with the design and distribution activities of the product worldwide being located in Spain.

Ethics and Compliance at Our Core

Our Global Compliance Model is designed to ensure we comply with applicable legislation and the ethics commitments assumed voluntarily by the Group, while seeking to protect the company and its stakeholders’ interests, limiting or avoiding exposure to any form of legal liability.

The year 2024 was key for the promotion of ethical values and culture at Inditex with the update of its Code of Conduct, which is the guide that steers the commitment of all its people to the principles of respect, honesty and integrity, transparency and responsibility, which represent the company's way of acting. To get the message across to all teams, the company carried out an ambitious global communication, awareness and training campaign. The high level of feedback collected during this campaign demonstrates the impact of the campaign in bringing the Company's principles and ethical culture closer to its people in their daily lives.

In addition, in 2024, several corporate policies have been approved or modified:

Finally, the Global Compliance Model continued to evolve during the 2024 financial year, through initiatives such as the review of the Compliance risk taxonomy, the improvement in the identification of the main processes exposed to said risks and the review of its evaluation methodology.
